AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Freelance)
For the NN AWS Cloud Platform Team we are looking for a skilled AWS Infrastructure Engineer who can help us improve and modernize our platform setup to enable the cloud capabilities for our customers. This job opportunity resides within Group IT, the central IT department of NN. The AWS Cloud Platform Team delivers the cloud foundation (access management, accounts, security, networking and more) in a highly standardized and automated way at a very large scale (>700 AWS accounts). You will make sure the NN AWS Cloud Platform remains stable and will be modernized to become future proof.

NN’s cloud journey started in 2015 with a hybrid cloud strategy and transformed to its current state where the platforms are growing on a daily basis with already more than 700 AWS accounts and 700 Azure subscriptions. Your team provides secure, scalable and self-service access to the AWS Cloud Platform.
To support this hybrid cloud strategy, your team will be delivering a solid foundation with reusable building blocks (features) and enough freedom for business units to build and manage a platform that suits their needs. In addition, the AWS Cloud Platform Team is part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and regularly advices DevOps teams across the company on how to adopt cloud technology and deliver qualitative cloud native solutions on top of AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and support the AWS landing zone using Infrastructure as Code principles and tools (e.g. Python, Terraform, GitLab)
- Multi account deployment orchestrion
- Improve our current AWS networking topology (e.g. connection to on premises, account inter-connectivity, cloud to cloud connectivity and the AWS network firewall)
- Maintain standardized and hardened (golden) AMI’s (Linux and Windows)

- A minimum of 4 years of experience with implementing cloud solutions, preferably on a large scale
- Experience with Platform as a Service, scripting with Python and Infrastructure as a Code with Terraform and CDK with CloudFormation
- Experience with cloud architecture design on large multi-account environments
- AWS Certified
- You are able to structure and motivate the team on engineering best practices like code re-views, documentation and decision making

The AWS Cloud Platform Team consists of ten skilled and empowered AWS infrastructure engineers. The team is part of the Public Cloud Domain of NN where we have a high entrepreneurial culture with open, honest and fun people. Your direct colleagues will consist of the Azure, Kubernetes and CI/CD DevOps engineers. Every Tuesday we work from the office in The Hague, but you are free to have more office-days.
