You help realise the delivery of the ABN AMRO strategy: a Personal Bank in a Digital Age. You ensure that the entire bank follows the correct route towards a fully data driven organisation. From shaping new concepts to designing and guiding data management initiatives. You are able to quickly submerge yourself in a brand-new initiative, shape it  and ensure it is properly anchored for successful execution.

Your job

As Data Management control expert, your job is to design and drive a control framework for ABN AMRO’s Data Governance. This framework will help the organisation understand if they are doing the right things in an effective way. You will also help them to understand what needs to be done first. Furthermore, you will guide them through any temporary deviations on the Data Management design towards full compliancy. In doing so, you bring the mentality to the organisation: “first things first!”.

The results you contribute to:

1. Design a new control framework that measures compliancy with the data management design and guide any deviations towards full compliancy;
2. Help the organisation understand what data management actions need to happen first;
3. Provide transparency on compliancy to the design.

Furthermore, you are an active contributor to the topics your colleagues in the team are working on:

• Designing and driving processes to formalise data management artefacts such as standards and guidelines;
• Providing expert guidance and support in adopting data management artefacts;
• Measure and report on the adoption rate of data management targets;
• Running the corporate governance Data Committee;
• Driving awareness of data governance.

This role requires switching context quickly, being action oriented while having strong conceptual capabilities with an understanding of data governance and management, risk management and foremost you are able to inspire stakeholders to take action.

Working environment

You operate in the following organisation:

• You are part of the Central Data Office – Data Governance – Governance & Control department
• You interact with other departments in the Central Data Office to align on performance reporting
• You interact with Data Domains to implement the Data Performance Management framework
• You interact with stakeholders throughout the bank to strengthen alignment with bank-wide (performance) initiatives (like Objective Key Results framework, Key Risk Indicator steering elements, remuneration structure)

Your profile

• Bachelor or Master’s degree required, preferably in Information Sciences, Business Information Management, Data Management, Legal or a related field (like Risk Management)
• At least 4 years work experience in general
• Great at finding the balance between freedom and control
• Data-driven mentality and experience
• Experience in driving KPI definitions & target setting processes
• Experience in data governance, data management, or related roles (you are familiar with DAMA DMBOK, Data Mesh, BCBS239, etc.)
• Understanding of the way of working with 3 lines of defense
• Good consultancy, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across departments and disciplines
