Data Scientist/Engineer

As a Data Scientist/Engineer within the claims intermediary company, you are responsible for data-driven management of the entire portfolio. The claims intermediary company serves both business and private clients and has a premium volume of around 1.8 billion euros. Together with our colleagues from product management and pricing, you focus on the profitability and growth of the portfolio. Additionally, you will integrate information from various systems and make it usable for monitoring and analysis purposes. In all of this, you will use the latest tools and techniques.

• Unlock new data sources
• Automate processes using pipelines within the Azure Platform
• Utilize new techniques (such as ChatGPT and Image Recognition) to streamline processes within the claims intermediary company
• Develop tools to support the department

Wat je meebrengt

• A completed (technical) university degree in econometrics, mathematics, physics/astronomy, computer science, or a related field such as Data Science
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as SQL and Python, and preferably experience with the Azure platform
• Experience working with big data and applying it in a commercial environment

• Good communication skills and consultancy skills

Met wie je werkt

The Data Driven Underwriting team proactively manages the quality and profitability of the portfolio based on data. The team consists of 15 people, including data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and business translators. The team plays a central role within the claims intermediary company and is responsible for transitioning from reactive portfolio management to proactive portfolio steering. We do this by combining product knowledge with data science techniques and analytics tools. Additionally, we ensure that we always deliver what our partners ask for, often in collaboration with product managers, pricing specialists, actuaries, marketers, operations, and IT.
