Kafka Platform Engineer
Your job
As a Kafka Platform Engineer within DIAL, you are responsible for deploying and maintaining the technical architecture of the ABN AMRO Streaming Platform (part of the DIAL ecosystem). Moreover, you will guide both new and existing users in connecting to the platform. This is done by working closely with business stakeholders, understanding their requirements and translating this to the right solution. You will work closely with other platform engineers, DevOps engineers and security professionals to ensure that the platform meets ABN AMRO’s needs while adhering to best practices in scalability, reliability, fault tolerance and security.
Your profile
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in working with Confluent Kafka technology in production environment.
- Strong understanding of Kafka internals including brokers, schema-registry, connectors, topics, partitions, consumers, producer, etc.
- Experience in working with Cloud Technologies (preferably Azure).
- Experience in working with application with high availability requirements.
- Experience of Agile & DevOps way of working.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and practical experience in setting up and maintaining pipelines.
- Experience in automated deployment and management using tools like Ansible, terraform etc.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. Python, Java).
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design efficient solutions.
- Strong drive for continuous improvement, both on the technology and personal side.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Creative and problem-solving mindset, proactive and ready to be challenged
- You are a team player and eager to share your expertise with your team.
- Demonstrable experience in maintaining code quality through best practices and code reviews.
