The Technology Manager at NN Bank is a crucial role responsible for driving the bank's technology transformation alongside the MT Technology & Transformation (T&T). You will act as the key liaison between Technology and Mortgage, serving as a "linking pin" between these departments. Within T&T you will act as an expert in IT Operations driving this expertise across NN Bank. Your primary objective is to strengthen the technology organization and drive empower product teams to achieve maximum focus and productivity.

The responsibilities of the Technology Manager Mortgages are:

Technology Transformation

As Technology Manager you are instrumental in driving NN Bank's Technology Transformation strategy, a strategy which requires close collaboration with third-party partners. Additionally, you will need to have a strong understanding of retail banking, as this is imperative for the success of the bank's technology approach. You work closely with the MT T&T to translate and disseminate NN-Group-wide technology initiatives to NN Bank. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that the technical transformation is effectively translated into a department with associated OKRs that are determined bank-wide and embedded throughout the organization.

Technology Workforce management

As Technology Manager, you will be responsible for managing the IT Operations workforce across bank

ensuring that our colleagues are equipped with the necessary competencies and skills to perform their job effectively. This will involve determining NN Bank's strategic technology workforce development and continuously developing the expertise level of technology employees in accordance with NN guidelines.

You will manage the workforce management integrally leveraging external capabilities. You will inspire your DevOps team managers to ensure that new functionalities are delivered on technical quality standards and will inspire the banking tech community in the technological transition.
Additionally, you will manage the capacity (in / external resourcing) within your teams to support the Mortgage department.

Ultimately, your role will be crucial in ensuring that NN Bank's technology workforce is well-equipped to tackle the challenges.

Technology risk management

As the Technology Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring that the Mortgage department operates within the defined technology risk posture. This will require close collaboration with the Mortgage department to ensure that all technology-related activities are aligned with NN Bank's risk posture and regulatory requirements. Your role will be to provide guidance and resolve impediments to the product teams on best practices and to monitor to ensure that they remain within the defined risk posture.
Additionally, you will be responsible for integrating and enforcing Technology and security policies/standards and controls within the Mortgage department and ensure that our technology initiatives adhere to the highest levels of compliance.

Ultimately, your role will be crucial in ensuring that the technology initiatives of Mortgages are carried out in a safe and secure manner, in line with NN Bank's risk posture and regulatory requirements.

Finance
As Manager technology you will draft, adhere and manage the technology resourcing budget for your teams.

You actively shape and manage the cost-effective technology run set up (for years to come).

Link to Mortgage department
As Manager technology you will strengthening and unburdening the Mortgage department as the person ultimately responsible for technology . By taking the responsibility for critical SAAS outsourcing parties on the tactical supplier relationship and IT Operations management. You will define and propagating the current, desired and transition architecture and guidelines in collaboration with architects. And ensure that initiatives are delivered based on agreed guardrails and standards.

Who you are

Experienced Technology manager (managing team managers) > 10 years in the Dutch financial banking sector
Proven experienced in enablement of IT Operations
Being a interlocutor for our Dutch Banking business on what is needed from a Mortgage department is crucial for being successful in this role.
Proven strong in stakeholder management with peers and inspiring tech leadership style to be able to guide people in a technology transformation
Strong in SAAS supplier management on tactical level and managing technology expertise teams.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field/ WO working and thinking level

Who you will work with

The Technology Manager works within the T&T department and manages 3 team managers (Engineering-, and DevOps managers). All DevOps managers (with main focus on sec ops) within NN Bank are functional part of your expertise domain. The total Technology domain Mortgages consists of approximately 50 employees. The Technology Manager is part of the MT T&T and reports to the CTO of NN Bank. The T&T MT has a direct link with both the NN Bank MT and the NN Group CIO Board.

In addition to this hierarchical line, the Technology Manager has a functional line to the management team of Mortgage in order to involve these NN Bank departments in the Technology transformation. In particular, direction is given to how the technical delivery and run are carried out.
