As Project Manager you will be responsible for the delivery within C&D on the initiatives that have been identified within the Future Ready workstream IT Simplification. The aim of the workstream is to reach more convergence of the overall IT landscape across NN Group over time and standardise across NN on IT foundations (e.g. infrastructure, workplace services, IT for IT). In addition you’ll be responsible for other IT projects within C&D

As Project Manager you will enable the delivery of initiatives and help teams to deliver high impact work. Projects you will be responsible for are the implementation of a new Content Management System for NN and other migrations /decommissioning projects such as API platform.

You possess execution power (get things done even without hierarchical mandate; use influence rather than control), are result oriented (are able to lead and support teams to realize strategic and complex change objectives) and you are excellent in planning but you know that success comes from execution. Next to that you have strong stakeholder management and communication skills - Bring people together (have a clear focus on collaboration), you show a high level of organizational sensitivity (because of your analytical skills and deep under-standing of the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of the organization you are broadly accepted as a sparring partner and advisor). You have strong analytical skills (quickly find the core problem) and bring planning and structure to the projects/ programme. You can transform an innovative idea in an understandable story.

In order to do so you are responsible for the following activities:

You are the driver of the execution with a no-nonsense mentality and hands-on approach. You will manage a part of the change agenda within C&D related to IT Simplification and ensure projects are delivering on the planned objectives and value
You have the responsibility to set the goals, budget and planning to be able to deliver and realize the various projects
You proactively keep the relevant stakeholders informed in a timely manner about the progress of the various projects and keep them involved in the decision-making process by reporting on OKR’s, progress and KPI’s of strategic projects/initiatives
Expectations regarding risk and quality are shared and guaranteed and transparent, and escalations regarding the project are addressed in a timely manner

The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the systems used in the banking- and insurance industry, and be able to translate complex technical information into understandable language for our business stakeholders. Bachelor/master degree plus a minimum of 5 years of experience within a large corporate preferably financial industry or consultancy firms
Result oriented, well-organized, creative with excellent problem solving, analytical and influencing skills
Experienced in managing and leading complex IT projects with multidisciplinary teams; proven project & stakeholder management skills
Excellent financial skills: the ability to analyse and structure information with strong content focus, deep understanding of the strategy, initiatives and its business cases
Strong relationship management skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
Experienced in telling a complex story in an understandable slide
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) complex technical information to IT and non-it audience in English

Customer & Digital (C&D) connects the Business Units of Nationale-Nederlanden with our joint customer. This means we take care of all generic systems, platforms and capabilities that are used within NN to service our customer. As an example you can think of the digital client portals, the app, the chatbot-technology which is being further developed and used and the expertise like Research, UX Design and Data Science within the whole company.

You will be part of the Strategy, Finance and Control team. You will work in the Strategy team in close interaction with Dutch business units and the other domains within C&D, such as IT, Retail, B2B and Customer Contact Experience. You will be reporting to the Head of Strategy, Finance and Control.

The Strategy team is the linking pin and has an orchestrating role towards the Dutch Strategy/ NL workstreams organized across business units and will support strategy execution, decision making processes by proving/monitoring the strategic effectiveness and facilitating a uniform way of working (method, process, consistency, reporting) via PMO capabilities.
