Within Triodos Investment Management (Triodos IM), a 100% subsidiary of Triodos Bank, the team of Investments in Private Debt and Equity (IPD&E) manages funds that invest in financial institutions specialized in the provision of microfinance and SME finance in emerging markets, where the use of Fintech opens new routes to provide access to financial services. To strengthen the impact we create, we would like to bring on board an eager, analytically strong team player, who wants to fulfil the position of the Senior Investment Manager.

As Senior Investment Manager you will be part of a unique impact investing fund in the energy transition with a long-term focus in an evergreen structure. Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund aims to limit the consequences of climate change by increasing the share of clean energy in the total energy mix and reducing CO2 emissions. The fund mainly acts as an equity partner for companies that generate renewable energy, improve energy efficiency and/or offer energy flexibility. The fund also invests directly in renewable energy projects. The team consists of a head, 3 investment managers and 3 investment associates working closely together across pipeline and investments.

How you will make a difference

In this role you will play an important part in the team in sourcing, structuring, execution and managing of complex equity transactions

• Originate high quality prospective investments in emerging segments of our industry
• Lead and take responsibility for the investment cycle, hands on, from lead generation to closing, and potential exits
• Full responsibility for deals and investments, and backup for team members in other deals
• Managing of the fund’s equity participations and subordinated debt positions as board member, board observer or as a shareholder representative

• have a strong analytical background and a keen interest in the energy transition.
• understand developments in the energy transition beyond traditional wind and solar.
• are comfortable working in an international environment.
• are delivering within a team on an agreed timeline through quality assurance, coordination and where necessary a deep dive.
• have affinity and personal connection with the mission and values of Triodos Bank as well as the capacity to communicate these and translate them into daily activities.

Furthermore, it is expected that you will have:

• 8+ years relevant growth capital and/or project finance experience in energy markets
• Proven track record in leading equity deal origination, structuring and execution
• An existing network in the renewable energy space in Europe
• Flexible, pragmatic, solution-oriented and has a “can-do” mentality
• Strong analytical, presentation, and negotiating skills
• Good understanding of governance structures, project contracting and financial modelling
• Fluent in English (orally and in writing); knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
• Willingness to travel in Europe on a regular basis
• MSc degree in a relevant scientific field (Business Economics, Engineering or Corporate finance)
