In this role you will be responsible for the IT architecture of Authentication, Security and Onboarding domain within the Value Cluster Digital Channels Personal Banking (DCPB). The Value Cluster DCPB digitally enables convenient, specialized knowledge and new offerings. By providing customer journeys that exceed the customer expectation of new and existing NL consumer clients in all segments. The Value Cluster DCPB offers relevant propositions and services in the online Consumer channels (ABN AMRO App and Internet Banking) to new & existing customers and creates and enhances (specific segment) channel experiences.  By integrating the generic capabilities within the channels and ensure end-to-end customer experience. With the aim to contribute to the digital strategy of the bank and to build a personal bank in the digital age. You will be part of the Value Cluster DCPB together with other Solution Architects and a Lead Solution Architect. As an Solution Architect you are a real connector and you put out clear solution content for your colleagues. It is important in this position to monitor the scope in which work is carried out, the technical implementation and quality of these components. You are in conversation with many fields and different functions because you are the pivot for our grid between business and IT. For example, you are a sparring partner for the IT Lead, Grid Owner and Lead Product Owner. The complexity of the position lies in supervising and supporting the DevOps teams, which require in-depth knowledge of the Grid(s). Our new Architect oversees and supervises the quality of the architecture and is able to covey this information to his or her colleagues. Together you arrive at the right priorities to meet the business demand. An Domain Architect delivers a Solution Intent through technical expertise, long-term vision, product knowledge and soft skills, which ensures simplifications and improvements so that future changes become easier. All work of the Domain Architect is therefore focused on long-term thinking and creating  a roadmap for the Value Cluster and works towards the Future State Architecture.

Your job

As a Solution Architect working in Digital Channels Personal Banking (DCPB), you will be focusing on various crucial aspects such as user experience, business and IT processes, and technology. Your role is expected to embody leadership, where you will develop a visionary architecture for one of the Digital Channels Personal Banking product domains. You are expected to be pragmatic and realistic, yet capable of setting a compelling vision that inspires everyone to follow. Your ability to connect the dots and paint the bigger picture is essential, as is your capacity to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape and be recognized as a trusted partner.

In this role, you will be part of a small team, collaborating to ensure the development and delivery of consistent architectural guidance. Assertiveness is key when resolving dependencies or addressing complex issues, and excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.

The mindset of a Solution Architect, as we see it, involves being the essential connectors within IT and business realms of the bank. You will bridge gaps between teams, working towards a clear strategy for our future state architecture within the GRID. This requires a well-defined vision, supported by solid argumentation and strategic choices, along with a concrete plan of approach to realize this vision.

Staying up to date with the latest IT knowledge within the field of architecture is vital. As a Domain Architect, you will facilitate delivery teams, offering support and guidance in architectural matters. Creativity is a significant trait, as you will need to think outside the box and develop solutions that make processes smoother and clearer than ever before.

Working environment

In this role you are responsible for the architecture development and control of the Authentication, Security and Onboarding domain at DCPB. This means:

  • You create solution intents in close cooperation with your business counterpart;
  • You know how to draw and plot boundaries across different dimensions using architecture frameworks and models. 
  • You know how to use methods, frameworks and techniques to drive strategy into execution.
  • You work closely with your peers in the team to identify synergy cross grid/Value Cluster.
  • You support the IT DevOps teams to cut big changes in small user stories and shippable products.
  • You carefully follow the latest business and technology trends and developments, and determine the impact it could have on the organization.

Your profile

In terms of skills, we are looking for an SolutionArchitect who has strong knowledge of both IT and business. The Solution Architect knows how to move in the cloud Azure and knows what challenges lie ahead for developers. 
Our new Solution Architect has in-depth knowledge of the relevant applications, how they contribute to fulfilling the business requirements and of the ABN-AMRO Architecture. 
The person has knowledge at university level with at least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, including 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of system Architecting.

You have knowledge about:

  • TOGAF/ ArchiMate 
  • UML
  • Rest API design best practices
  • Security standards; user security and application security
  • Cloud platform exposure
  • Agile methodologies/ DevOps (mindset)

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
