Join our Segment Development team to lead strategy and proposition development, driving business growth, increasing market share, and enhancing client satisfaction.
Your job
Strategy Development:
- Continuously scan market and internal developments to identify opportunities and threats. Share these insights with the wider segment.
- Formulate vision and mission statements that align with the company’s long-term goals.
- Establish both long-term and short-term objectives to guide strategic initiatives, embedding them into OKRs.
- Generate and evaluate different strategic options based on value cases.
- Develop detailed strategic plans and actionable steps.
- Implement strategies, including resource allocation and coordination.
- Communicate the segment strategy effectively to stakeholders.
Proposition development & ownership:
- Validate opportunities by using qualitative and quantitative client insights, competitor analysis, and market trends.
- Collaborate with experts from eCommerce, Customer Experience, Brand Management & Communication, and product teams to design experiences that address validated opportunities and define a clear go-to-market strategy.
- Ensure successful delivery by executing and leading implementation. Organize for success by involving relevant parties and breaking down work into manageable milestones and tasks, which you will track and steer.
- Measure post-launch performance and identify new improvement opportunities.
Your work environment
The Segment Development Team (SDT) at ABN AMRO Affluent Clients is a team of ~12 FTE, consisting of a diverse mix of strategy, positioning and performance consultants. You report to the Head of Segment Development, who is a management team member of the client segment. Our office is in Amsterdam.
The team develops and maintains unique value propositions like Preferred Banking, BUX by ABN AMRO, Sports & Entertainment, as well as the Mortgages product offering. It also supports performance dialogues throughout the segment.
We have a strong link to the Management Team of Affluent Clients, and steer and support the strategic agenda of the segment. We strive to create unique and differentiating client experiences and be the financial partner for our clients in every aspect of their life . We do this in cooperation with a range of departments within ABN AMRO, most notably the sales units, product teams, marketing, and e-commerce.
Your profile

You can structure work, translating vision into actionable plans, and executing strategies in a corporate environment. You balance result-orientation and relationship-orientation.
Your skills and experiences:
- Minimum of 10 years in (strategy) consulting, entrepreneurship, and/or proposition development
- Strategic visionary with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience in driving business growth through digital and physical channels
- Experience in acquisition, monetization, and retention strategies, preferably in B2C
- Experience in designing and implementing service models and contact strategies
- Experience in pricing differentiation and product packaging strategies
- Fluent in Dutch (prerequisite)
- Deep understanding of affluent client needs (plus)

- The gross monthly salary (max. Eur. 9.704) displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget. A 40-hour work week is also possible. Salary scaling is based on knowledge, experience and the potential you bring.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
