Your primary mission is to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize the performance of market risk applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement resilient and scalable systems, drive automation initiatives for deployment, configuration and monitoring processes and participate in incident response and on-call rotation to ensure system availability.

Your job
As a Site Reliability Engineer for Risk IT, you will make an important contribution to supplying reliable risk-related applications to various stakeholders in the Risk Management and IT organization. You work closely together with the Product Owners, Business Developers and IT Engineers in the domain as well as with many other teams in the organization.
In close collaboration with the business developers and IT Engineers, you will develop software to improve performance, reliability and resilience of the different IT environments. You will work on automating the monitoring and alerting processes, creating dashboards which pro-actively signals potential issues. And you will be involved in investigating and resolving IT issues and outages and conducting post-incident reviews.
Because we are bringing the risk applications and the deployment pipelines to a structurally higher level, you and your colleagues will be actively working to improve the process where necessary. Autonomous cooperation based on an agile approach will be the key to success. You will play a crucial role in streamlining, improving and automating the incident reporting process and keep documentation and runbooks up to date.
Working environment
The purpose of Risk IT is to build a best-in-class, data-driven Risk function based on automated monitoring and deployment pipelines that delivers value and trust to our stakeholders. To be able to achieve that we transform our application landscape into a flexible, future proof risk data platform, the transformation program we run is of strategic importance and highly visible in the organization. Thanks to our global network with offices in eleven countries and proximity to all major exchanges, you will serve the best trading firms on four continents. You work closely with stakeholders in Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong, Amsterdam and Chicago on a day-to-day basis.
Risk IT exists of several teams with global end-to-end responsibility over the domain. Each team is a high performing, multidisciplinary team of IT Engineers and Business Developers, who work together in an agile way. We have Risk IT engineers and Data experts in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Chicago so our working days vary between 7am and 8pm, keeping 8 hours per day as the rule.The atmosphere is open and informal. We work hard, but there is enough room to play around and meet for drinks as well!
Your profile
You lead efforts to stabilize and automate CICD pipelines and collaborate with IT Development Engineers and Business Developers to create monitoring and alerting tools. You have proven experience in working with on prem and cloud-based infrastructure and high-availability applications.
You have a drive to improve client happiness by designing and implementing new services in close collaboration with your stakeholders. You are a strategic, long-term thinker, but with ability to translate concepts into short-term action. You don’t shy away from complex problems, and you take responsibility. As well as having a strong drive to maintain your own expertise, you’re keen to actively contribute to further developing and improving the area you work in.
In short:
- You have 5+ years of experience working with on prem and cloud-based infrastructure and high-availability applications;
- You have Python and C++ programming skills;
- You have network experience, including an understanding of standard protocols/components;
- You are familiar with common infrastructure and software deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and Helm;
- You have knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Splunk;
- You have affinity with financial services and risk management;
- You embrace the agile way of working;
- You have MSc. level of work and thinking;
